Hours at these spots often run into the evening, later than a typical coffee shop, and many stay open on weekends when demand is highest in Durham. Seasonal and limited-time drink or dessert flavors are common, so a shop's current menu can differ from what is posted online; checking recent photos or calling ahead helps. Some locations in North Carolina are dessert-only with no seating, meant for takeout, while others have cafe-style seating for staying a while. Straws for bubble tea are typically wide to accommodate the toppings, and are provided automatically unless you ask for a regular one. Loyalty apps and stamp cards are common at chain locations, and ordering ahead through an app can shorten a wait considerably at busy locations during peak after-school and after-dinner hours.

Durham is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Durham is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Went on 05/04/2026. (First time here) for a pick up order. Honestly I was disappointed in the customer service provided. When I went no one was at the counter. I heard noise in the back so out of respect (I assume it was one person working) I waited. I didn’t wait no more or less than 5 mins but when approached I greeted the worker. No greeting was given back. I didn’t take it to heart so then I stated the name for the pick up order the guy pointed at the end of the counter for my order. Mind you it was no way I could’ve known it was for me cause the name was covered and I didn’t want to snoop through orders. I was heading out and said to the worker “have a great day”and no response was given back. I left out and thanked him. No response still. I got home to try the cake it was more icing than anything and unfortunately the cake was dry. I don’t normally do reviews. However, I support black own and was looking forward to trying them for about 2 weeks. Cause I saw them on TikTok. I had gotten off of work and headed straight there. No the worker there didn’t know that. I’ve worked in customer service for years and to extend kindness back isn’t that hard to do. Especially when you hav

I must've got a bad batch or came on the wrong day. I ordered a strawberry crunch cake and a pineapple cake. Pineapple cake was plain I guess the pineapple was just in the icing. I was really upset about the strawberry crunch cake again. The flavor is just in the icing, but the cake was not a fresh/moist like it's been in the refrigerator for a couple of days .for it to be nine dollars is way too much The texture was like eating a spoon sugar(texture only). I didnt like it at all it was a waste of money for me .The one good thing gets the size of the cake, but it's still not worth nine dollars. I have gotten a lot better for a lot less and I would choose a store cake over this cake any day and the lady I dealt with I wouldn't say rude but I also wouldn't say friendly. It was a hurry up pick what you want and pay. From the reviews I read I was expecting something totally different.

Recently had a slice of their cake at a Business Expo my church hosted and their cake was absolutely out of this world. We had 3 different cakes slices and with each one they kept getting better and better. The lemon cake was our absolute favorite- so moist and fresh! Highly recommend!

I'm particular about red velvet cake, and theirs is awesome!! Moist and the frosting is good too! I'm usually a cupcake person, so I've tried all flavors over the years. Other than the parking being tight sometimes, this is my recommended cake spot in the area.

Cake bakery that is a true treat. Cakes are just so moist and flavorful. The flavors are both simple and complex at the same time. They regularly have a variety of cake slices and cupcakes available. And of course they sell full cakes as well which can be ordered. The carrot cake is my personal favorite but I have had a slice that I haven’t loved. If you haven’t been, this is a must visit type of place.
